And then, there was one. The chosen Gosling (no, not you Ryan, sorry). The man who will be Goose's... son in Top Gun's sequel is Miles Teller.
The Whiplash actor got the gig over the likes of Nicholas Hoult and Glen Powell, who made it to the final three. Teller will star alongside Tom Cruise, who returns to his iconic role of Pete "Maverick" Mitchell and Val Kilmer, playing old rival Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky as they school newer flyers in an age when drone warfare is slowly replacing the dogfighting of old.
Joseph Kosinski is directing the new movie, still reportedly known as Top Gun: Maverick and slated to arrive in July next year. Teller's role will see him as the child of Maverick's ill-fated former co-pilot, played by Anthony Edwards in the 1986 original.
Teller has a couple of projects on the way, with the most anticipated being Nicolas Winding Refn's TV drama Too Old To Die Young.
