Tom Holland (that one, not the others) might be the current occupant of the suit in Sony and Marvel's current live-action Spider-Man films, but Miles Morales is getting his shot in the untitled animated movie headed our way.
Sony announced on Wednesday that the character – who already appears in animated form, voiced by Donald Glover in a Disney XD series – will be graduating to cinemas via the movie from writers Phil Lord and Chris Miller. "What inspired us the most is that anyone can where the mask. You can be any race creed or colour," the pair said via a video message at a presentation for Sony's planned slate, while promising plenty of both action and laughs.
Glover (who has a role in Spider-Man: Homecoming) likely won't be the voice for Morales on the big screen (though we'd be happy if he did), we do know that Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsey are sharing the director's chair and that it has a planned US and UK release of 21 December, 2018. There will be more information to come. As for Homecoming, that swings on to our screens on 7 July.
