Once a project that was being shepherded by Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann for him to produce and her to star in, the comedy formerly known as Bad Moms lost them and is now without a title, but does have an acting triumvirate for its leads, with Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Christina Applegate joining up{
Paramount has been hoping this one would stay afloat, with Hangover writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore providing the script and remaining attached to direct.
The plot will follow an overachiever of a mother who would seem to be living the perfect life, but unbeknownst to her family, is also incredibly stressed and so very ready for a break. So she takes off with two equally harried moms on a quest for fun, freedom and frivolity. But their actions bring them into conflict with the local PTA leader and seeming queen of the local mothers’ clique, who is none too happy with them disrupting her plans for an orderly, organized neighbourhood. There’s no word on when it’ll start shooting yet, but the studio is probably just happy it’s getting to this stage again.
Kunis, last seen in Jupiter Ascending, has a voice in stop-motion ‘toon Hell And Back, which has yet to find a UK release. Bell is about to kick off work on the CHiPs movie and has Melissa McCarthy’s The Boss due here June 10 next year. And Applegate, who appeared in the new Vacation film, is shooting Crash Pad with Domhnall Gleeson and voices Brittany once again in the latest Chipmunks film, The Road Chip, which will darken our cinema doors on February 12.
