After years of cranking out great screenplays for the likes of School Of Rock, Mike White is finally getting his chance to direct.
Paramount Classics has lined him up to direct Year Of The Dog, about a secretary whose life changes in drastic ways after her beloved pooch goes to doggie heaven. White will also write the screenplay.
His producing partner Jack Black is also expected to be involved, but it’s not yet clear if he’ll act in the film. Black and White have just finished work as writer and star of Mexican wrestling comedy Nacho Libre, directed by Napoleon Dynamite’s Jared Hess.
