After scaring the living daylights out of people with The Haunting Of Hill House on Netflix, writer/director Mike Flanagan and producing partner Trevor Macy are already developing follow-up The Haunting Of Bly Manor. That's clearly not enough serialised terror for the pair, as they've also just landed a deal to make Midnight Mass for the streaming service.

Nothing to do with the DC/Vertigo comics title, this is an original chiller with the following plot: "an isolated island community experiences miraculous events – and frightening omens – after the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest." So yes, don't expect too many happy smiling faces... At least once the scares kick in.

The initial order is for seven episodes, with Flanagan creating and directing again and serving as executive producer alongside Macy. They've shown a key eye for horror on screens both big and small, and Netflix has cannily locked in their services, signing the pair up to a multi-year deal earlier this year.

And if all that wasn't enough, they've also been at work on Doctor Sleep, which creeps its way into cinemas on 31 October. Check out the latest trailer below.
