After helping to bring the purest of the pure superheroes to the screen in Superman Returns, it looks like co-writer Michael Dougherty is looking to tap into his dark side.
Following in the footsteps of regular collaborator Dan Harris (who wrote Returns and X2 with him and has directed Imaginary Heroes) Dougherty will step behind the camera for a creepy little film called Trick Or Treat.
The plot will interweave four Halloween-set tales of chaos and evil in the same way as, say, Four Rooms. But hopefully with decent plotlines. And from the sound of things, Dougherty has been scheming towards this idea for a while – he’s gotten a little directorial experience already, making ‘toon short Season’s Greetings. It’s another story taking place on All Hallow’s Eve, which finds a cocky kid battle a candy-stealing nemesis that might not be entirely human.
Once he's scared up a cast, Dougherty will start shooting in Vancouver this November.
