Mickey Rourke and Inglourious Basterds’ Til Schweigerhave signed on to co-star in action thriller The Courier, which already features Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the titular, specialised deliveryman.

In case you didn’t catch the plot when we reported on Morgan’s casting, he’s a man who always gets the delivery made to the dodgiest of locations and the most dangerous of clients. The film will find him assigned to take a briefcase to a crime boss so sneaky, he can’t be found. But the drop will be even less routine than usual as he’s pursued by double-crossing federal agents, corrupt cops and criminal rivals.

While The Wrap’s report doesn’t specify which role Rourke has snagged, we’d bet he’ll either play the crime boss or one of the corrupt officers.

Schweiger’s aboard as an FBI agent for the film that Paradise Now’s Hany Abu-Assad is gearing up to shoot later this month from a script by Wanted duo Derek Haas and Michael Brandt.

And it’s not the only new high profile job for Schweiger, with the German actor also signing up for McG’s new action comedy This Means War. He’s taking a small role as an arms dealer and will be seen alongside Tom Hardy, Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon in the tale of spies who go to war with each other over their love for the same woman.
