Since Star Trek: Discovery brought the sci-fi series back to the small screen, the Trek universe has begun to expand with the speed of the exploding moon of Praxis. The latest potential new series? A show focused on Michelle Yeoh's Captain Georgiou.
We realise that this may necessitate a spoiler alert for those who have only watched the first few episodes of Discovery, but with Season 2 of the show warping towards us, it's surely time that everyone knows Georgiou, while dead in the main timeline, returned via the Mirror Universe in the shape of the cruel and clever Emperor Georgiou. She went on to help the Federation win the war against the Klingons before being recruited by the secretive Section 31 Division of Starfleet's intelligence services.
According to Deadline, the new show would follow her various missions for the division. It'll all depend on scheduling, though, as Yeoh is a busy woman at the best of times and recently set up her own production company. She'll also be back for the Crazy Rich Asians sequel, whenever that kicks off filming.
It could certainly be fun to follow her character, though – it'll be a very different look at the Trek realm. Already officially in the works are at least three other series, including a set of short stories, an animated show and one about Patrick Stewart's Jean-Luc Picard.
