The follow-up to 2014's successful fairy tale adaptation Maleficent is continuing to add cast members, with a big name now in advanced talks. Assuming they are successful, Michelle Pfeiffer will be joining Angelia Jolie and Elle Fanning in the film.
Recent Pirates Of The Caribbean director Joachim Rønning is overseeing the new movie, which has yet to release any details of its plot or how it ties into the Sleeping Beauty-adjacent tale of the original. But Pfeiffer's locking down a deal to play the queen, joining fellow franchise newcomer Ed Skrein, who is on as a villain for the movie.
Disney is aiming to have the film shooting this year, with Rønning working from a script by Jez Butterworth and Linda Woolverton. Pfeiffer, meanwhile, will next crop up as Janet Van Dyne in Ant-Man And The Wasp, landing in the UK on 3 August.
