Notting Hill director Roger Michell will helm new British comedy Venus.
The plot follows a pair of aging thesps – played by acting stalwarts Peter O'Toole and Leslie Philips - who are reflecting on their less-than-glorious careers. But they’re forced to re-evaluate their ideas when they meet an inquisitive young woman, played by newcomer Jodie Whittaker. Richard Griffiths and Vanessa Redgrave also star.
Hanif Kureshi – who wrote Michell’s film The Mother – has written the script and the film kicked off shooting yesterday in London and at Ealing Studios.
