It’s not every day you see a superhero and a supervillain teaming up. But before you get wondering about the ultimate Marvel / DC crossover that sees Spider-Man working with General Zod, Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon are simply set to co-star in Ramin Bahrani’s drama **99 Homes.

Garfield has been attached since July, agreeing to play a contractor who can’t find work and ends up tossed from his house alongside his mother and nine-year-old child. Desperate for some way to reclaim it, he grudgingly agrees to work for the charming, powerful, greedy, gun-happy real-estate broker (Shannon) who snapped up the place.

Though it means he gets his home back, our hero begins to question the morality of trading his values – and possibly his soul – for a roof over his head. Bahrani, who also wrote the script, will begin shooting later this month in New Orleans.

Garfield has been busy working on T****he Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is out here on April 18 next year. He’s also attached to Martin Scorsese’s Silence. Shannon has comedy They Came Together and Young Ones in the can, and is next set to work on old friend Jeff Nicols’ sci-fi pic** Midnight Special**.
