The man behind Sicko and Fahrenheit 9/11 once again has his sights trained on the rich and powerful, and this time Michael Moore will be turning his scattergun on global capitalism, in the freshly monikered Capitalism: A Love Story.
The film focuses on "the disastrous impact that corporate dominance and out-of-control profit motives have on the lives of Americans and citizens of the world", making this something akin to a Roland Emmerich movie, except people lose their homes and have lives turned upside down without anything actually exploding (except the derivatives market, eh?!).
Moore asked for Wall Street whistleblowers to step forward and discuss the current crisis and how it came about, but we're sure he'll get in some general asides in what sounds like a return to his Roger & Me roots. He says that this film "has it all -- lust, passion, romance and 14,000 jobs being eliminated every day" making it "the perfect date movie".
We somehow doubt it'll be a patch on the daddy of the genre, Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room, but we should see later this year. Captitalism: A Love Story has an October 2 release date in the States, and with luck we'll see it here shortly after that.
