Trick or treat! As the seasons shift, Halloween is on the way, and that means ghosts, goblins and other supernatural beasties will be lurking, if only as kids dressed up for Halloween fun. But this coming Halloween, terror is stalking as Michael Myers is once again loose. So welcome the new trailer for... Ooh... it's on the tip of our tongue.
Yes, Halloween is going back to basics via David Gordon Green, Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley, who have developed a film that wipes out most of the sequels and sets the story in the present day. Michael Myers (played here by Nick Castle) has been locked in an institution for years after his murder spree decades ago. Now he's out and he's headed back to Haddonfield, Illinois.
But though he's ready to pick up again, someone is prepared – Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) has turned herself into a suburban Sarah Connor, tooled up and set to take the fight to him. But can she keep her family safe?
Judy Greer, Will Patton and Omar J. Dorsey are also in the cast, with Green directing and Jason Blum's Blumhouse team producing. Halloween will lurk in cinemas from 19 October.
