Solomon Kane director Michael J Bassett is suddenly a man in great demand. Not only is he working feverishly away on Silent Hill sequel Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, but he’s now signed up to develop and direct another horror, Saint Mary’s.
Originally created and written by Matthew Kingshott, the film will see a group of young people purposefully trapped in an abandoned asylum. Why, you ask? Well, it’s obviously not part of a scheme to keep them happy. Nope, it’s a devious plan to have their deepest nightmares come bubbling to the surface and manifest themselves.
Bassett will work on the script alongside Kingshott and, assuming he gets it to a place he’s happy with, he’ll likely make it after the Silent Hill follow-up (about which he talked exclusively to this very site). But then, he’s also attached to another project he’s written, called The Unblinking Eye. That one features Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a troubled cop confronted with his dodgy past, and was on Bassett’s list to shoot this year. Now it appears it’ll have to wait even longer…
