You probably know Michael Giacchino best as the Oscar-winner composer for movies such as Up, Inside Out, JJ Abrams' Star Trek movies, Rogue One, Jurassic World and so many more. But he's also a director, having made short comedy Monster Challenge. And now, to give us all something to watch while we spend time at home, he's put it online for the first time.
Monster Challenge stars Patton Oswalt as himself (sort of), struggling to find work and having just screwed up a big opportunity in Japan. So when some other Japanese producers offer him money to appear on their show, he takes the gig. What transpires is a blend of Godzilla movie spoof and Japanese game show, which also sees Ben Schwartz (also playing a ramped up version of himself that reminds you more of Parks & Rec's Jean-Ralphio Saperstein) appear.
It's fun, particularly for those who love kaiju films, and of course features some music from noted title-pun creator Giacchino, who has more recently been working on films including The Batman and Jurassic World: Dominion, both of which are on hold during the current Corona-topia.
