You may have already watched the first trailer for _Assassin's Cree_d (if not, you can find it hovering at the bottom of the page), but here comes a new poster featuring Michael Fassbender doing what the main characters in the Assassin's Creed games seem to love: standing atop high places, ready to jump.
Indeed, we're almost surprised this wasn't the first poster put online, followed by the actual original (see it here), which features our hero taking one of the game's trademark dives.
The film itself finds Fassbender as Callum Lynch, an alienated, violent drifter who discovers that he is descended from a 15th century Spanish assassin named Aguilar. "Recruited" (read: disappeared after he's apparently been sentenced to death) by a corporation called Abstergo Industries, Lynch taps into his ancestral memories via a device called the Animus to gain the know-how to fight the Assassins' age-old nemeses, the Templars, in a battle for the future of humanity.
Of course, not everything is quite what it seems and Lynch will have to figure out who his enemies really are and how he can fight back. With Justin Kurzel calling the shots and Marion Cotillard, Ariane Labed, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson and Michael Kenneth Williams among the cast, Assassin's Creed will sneak into UK cinemas on December 26.
