Continuing his path of successful career development, Creed and Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan is setting up a new film with a healthy starring role. He'll take the lead in The Silver Bear.

With one eye on a potential franchise moving forward, the film will adapt the first tome in Derek Haas' novel series. Despite the author also being a scriptwriter behind the likes of Wanted, Frank Baldwin actually wrote the screenplay.

Jordan will be Columbus, a lethal, cold as ice assassin who never fails, and seems immune to the stresses of his work. But he comes up against his own nightmarish origins when he takes on the job of killing the Speaker of the House, who is also a leading presidential candidate – and Columbus’ father...

Haas has since produced three follow-up novels, so there are places for the story to go if this one is successful. The next step will be finding a director. Jordan has a small role in Kin (which he also produced and arrives on 9 November) and returns as Adonis Creed for Creed 2, due on 30 November.
