Mia Goth is having quite the moment. Between the success of her character from Ti West's horror movies (1980s-set trilogy-capper Maxxxine just kicked off filming) and her scene-stealing turn in Infinity Pool, she's in demand and crushing it. Which has somewhat naturally put her on Marvel's radar, and she's landed a role in Blade opposite Mahershala Ali.

This being a Marvel movie, there are zero details on her character yet, nor do we know if she'll be on the heroic side, the villainous side, or somewhere in between.

Ali will play the titular Daywalker, a human-vampire hybrid thanks to his mother being bitten and killed by a blood-sucker during childbirth. A Marvel comics staple since the 1970s, he was most famously brought to screens by Wesley Snipes across three movies before the MCU was even in existence.

This Blade has had some development stumbles – original director Bassam Tariq left the film due to schedule and script worries, but it has since recruited Yann Demange to direct and Michael Starrbury to re-write the script.

If all goes well, Blade should be in cinemas in September next year.
