Gwyneth Paltrow will star opposite Meryl Streep in Daughter Of The Queen Of Sheba. The film is an adaptation of Jacki Leyden's highly acclaimed 1997 memoir. Paltrow will play Leyden, a news reporter whose mother suffered from manic depression and who was often transformed into either The Queen of Sheba or Marie Antoinette by her condition. Streep stars as the mentally unstable mother. Leyden's unconventional childhood eventually lead to a life as a war correspondent for National Public Radio and a number of hazardous assignments in the Middle East. The film will focus on this part of her adult life while employing her vivid memories of her mother as a backdrop. Matt Williams, a former producer, will direct the project. Williams, whose only other film as director is the Natalie Portman-starring Where The Heart Is, said "This is ultimately a love story between a mother and a daughter".
