Men In Black 3

Since the release of Men In Black 3, there has been chatter about the next potential chapter, including the idea of a direct fourth film and, in recent years, a crossover with 21 Jump Street. The latter now appears to have been abandoned with the new MIB moving forward as just a reboot with a new cast. Now the movie as it stands has a release date – 17 May, 2019.

It has one other thing too – well, technically, two, as Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who have written on the likes of Iron Man and this year's Transformers: The Last Knight (so one out of two ain't bad) are on board for the movie, which doesn't currently plan to feature original stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones at all. Of course, they could be tempted to make cameos with the right financial terms, but we'd put more cash on Smith popping in than Jones.

What will happen in the new movie is anyone's guess, though you've got to figure more trouble with aliens and prodigious use of the neuralyzers, though we'd figure the studio would love to have a giant version to make us all forget the exciting prospect of an MIB/Jump St. crossover.

That date – in the US so far – would see the movie facing off against John Wick 3 and, in a weird bit of box office coincidence, seeing competition from Will Smith in Disney's new Aladdin the week after.

Jump Street* and Men In Black crossover announced as *MIB 23
