Given that most of the buzz thus far on Men In Black 3 has been fairly negative reports of script issues, production delays and Will Smith’s big trailer, Sony is no doubt ready to try and turn things around. And the first official marketing volley: teaser posters for the movie featuring stars Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are online via Coming Soon.
First revealed by the gang at Collider last week when they began cropping up in US cinemas, the posters are at least different from your usual floating head types (and a departure from the traditional shots of Smith and Jones holding big guns), though we do worry that they tend to send your eyes a bit funny if you stare at them for too long.
Also gearing up is what appears to be a viral marketing campaign for the film, with a URL on the posters leading to the Facebook page of a conspiracy nut who has hit pay dirt and discovered the existence of the MIB team. There’s not much to it yet, but expect it to expand soon.
Men In Black 3 finds Smith’s Agent J having to travel back in time to save a young K (Josh Brolin) and stop yet another world-threatening disaster. The film also features Alice Eve, Jemaine Clement, Emma Thompson, Bill Hader, Michael Stuhlbarg and Rip Torn. It’ll be out (in 3D) on May 25, 2012.
