She is already one of Hollywood's biggest stars of the year after The Heat, but Melissa McCarthy is quietly building a TV empire to match her movie career. As well as starring in Mike & Molly, she and husband Ben Falcone have now sold three comedy show pitches in a row. The third, just-announced show (developed along with Larry Dorf, who wrote it and will also executive produce) is apparently an odd couple comedy about two grown men forced together when their parents marry.

The premise, obviously, recalls Stepbrothers, but we're guessing that when Warner Bros Television makes the show they will have a slightly different take on that set-up. McCarthy, Dorf and Falcone will be executive producers on the project, but no further details have yet been announced.

Meanwhile, if you're after a McCarthy fix, she'll be in St. Vincent De Van Nuys, out in the US next spring, and in Tammy with Susan Sarandon and Allison Janney. She also has B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations headed our way in 2015 and possibly a sequel to this year's The Heat.
