Actors taking on a film with a title like Ego must be aware of the jokes that spring instantly into the minds of headline writers.
Still, that hasn’t stopped Mekhi Phifer, Lords Of Dogtown’s Vincent Laresca, and raptress Eve from signing up for writer-director Antonio Macia’s indie drama.
It’s the tale of a crook (Phifer) freshly released from prison who becomes the target of vengeful abuse from Laresca’s cop, the son of the man that Phifer murdered. The taunts eventually lead to Phifer’s suicide, and Laresca must live with the emotional fallout.
Macia cranks his cameras this November in Connecticut.
