There were rumours earlier this week that Ryan Gosling was being lined up to continue the Jack Ryan franchise and today there comes word that the new movie, currently titled By Any Means Necessary, has found itself a director.

Moviehole reports that Fernando Meirelles, the man behind City of God and The Constant Gardener, will call the shots on the movie. Cinema em Cenathen spoke to the director who confirmed he's considering it. However, he did say that it's by no means certain that he'll take it, since he's still directing another project called Blindness, about a woman who is the only person who can see in a town struck blind, and already has something else in development.

Meirelles and Gosling? Hell, that would be one classy production.
