Megan Fox In Talks For Apatow's latest

With Jonah Hex crashing and burning and the recent news that one of her other post-** Transformers** roles, Passion Play, is headed straight for the direct-to-DVD dumpster, Megan Fox could use some cheering up. So she’s probably glad to be entering negotiations to co-star in Judd Apatow’s as-yet-untitled new film.

Apatow has been busy writing his latest script in between posting pictures of himself on Twitter and marathon sessions of procrastinating. There’s no official plot synopsis out in the world yet, but it is a follow up to Knocked Up, and will see Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann), the married couple from that film, playing out another story. It’s conceivable that Seth Rogen could crop up at least for a cameo, but we’re not holding our collective breath for Katherine Heigl to show up, especially given her statements about the Apatow gang’s brand of humour after Knocked Up arrived.

The Hollywood Reporter wasn’t able to dig up any details of exactly what role Fox would play, though we’re guessing she’ll be an attractive woman.

Universal is behind the new Apatow pic, which will shoot this summer.

And if you’re wondering whether Fox can really be that funny, John Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt must have seen some ability in her, since they cast her in their indie comedy Friends with Kids...

**Update: **Talking of funny, Deadline has learned that proven comedy type Albert Brooks is also negotiating to join the film, likely to play Paul Rudd's dad. Sounds like a good match...
