In what represents the first major role since she left/was ejected from (depending on who you ask) the Transformers franchise, Megan Fox has snagged a part in Jennifer Westfeldt and Jon Hamm’s Friends With Kids.
Westfeldt wrote and plans to direct the film, which will find a couple (Adam Scott and Westfeldt) who see the effects that having children has on their various friends’ relationships. Their solution? Pump out a sprog and then start to see other people... Well, it has the benefit of rarely being tried…
Fox is joining a cast that also includes Kristin Wiig and Hamm, who also happens to be Westfeldt’s other half, and the movie’s producer. Plus the first-time director is getting some experienced help, with Mike Nichols and Jake Kasdan aboard as executive producers.
It’s a solid cast, and we suspect Fox will need to raise her game, playing a young woman that Scott’s character starts seeing. But according to film salesbod John Sloss, she’s up to the challenge: "It's a very literate script and when Jen met with her, she thought Megan was spot on. When (Fox) picks the right part, she has tremendous value.”
We’ll find out for sure when the film arrives next year.
