The previous trailers and imagery from Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse gave the impression of a fun, visually impressive adventure that fully takes advantage of what animation can offer to the web-crawler. This latest look at the movie just magnifies that.
Bursting with the sort of wit we've come to expect from Phil Lord and Chris Miller (they're writers and producers here, the directorial reins this time picked up by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman), Into The Spider-Verse focuses primarily on Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), a Brooklyn teenager in a world one step removed from our own who deals with the typical Spider-issues, juggling family life and his early attempts at crime-fighting.
Then, thanks to some villainous science, the barrier between dimensions is ruptured and he meets the likes of Peter Parker (Jake Johnson), Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage) and porcine hero Spider-Ham (John Mulaney) and they discover that all their various realities are under threat from the likes of The Kingpin (Liev Schreiber) and his dastardly plans.
Pinging between different animation styles, the movie looks like it has a seriously fresh and bouncy feel, and we'll finally be able to see the whole thing on 12 December, with previews ahead of the general release on 8 and 9 December.
