Meet The Jetsons Again

Live action 'toon adaptation planned

Clearly no one learned the lessons of Rocky & Bullwinkle or either of the Flintstones movies: live-action versions of famous cartoons look weird and don’t generally work that well.

Try telling that to Warner Brothers, though, as the studio digs deep into development hell and lifts The Jetsons kicking and screaming into the green light.

The film has been through many writers in its decade-long journey towards the screen. But now the studio thinks Adam F Goldberg – who is also working on Fanboys and the new Revenge Of The Nerds remake – is the man to bring George, Jane, Judy, Elroy and Astro to life. There’s no plot yet, but doesn’t the fact that so many scribes couldn’t figure out a workable story is a warning sign? It’s too early to judge, so let’s keep our fingers crossed.
