It should come as no surprise to learn that Bryan Singer and Chris McQuarrie – who previously teamed up on various films including The Usual Suspects and Valkyrie – are getting the old gang back together for Singer’s latest, Jack The Giant Killer.

Jack, which Singer has stuck to instead of coming back for a new X-Men movie, finds a fantastical land on the brink of war when a giant kidnaps a princess.

A young farmer is charged with the mission to lead a group of men into the giants’ kingdom to stage a dangerous rescue. There’s no word on whether magic beans, a giant beanstalk or a pantomime cow are involved, though we hear Kevin Spacey is up for playing the cow* should McQuarrie add such a role.

According to the Heat Vision Blog, McQuarrie is now hard at work on updating the script, which had previously passed through the printers of Mark Bomback and Darren Lemke, ready for Singer to cast and start shooting this summer in England.

*OK, we're lying, but admit it: Kevin Spacey playing a cow would convince you that this is a must-see, right?
