Ewan McGregor is the latest person to join the cast of Amelia, Mira Nair's biopic of famed female pilot Amelia Earhart. The movie is currently shooting in Toronto.
McGregor is to play Gene Vidal, the father of author Gore Vidal and a man with whom Earhart, when not flying planes and disappearing, had a passionate affair. Other cast members already include Richard Gere as Earhart's husband George Putnam, and Virginia Madsen as his first wife Dorothy Binney, whose father, apropos of nothing, made Crayola crayons.
