Now that it has a confirmed star in the shape of Daniel Radcliffe, Alexandre Aja’s long-gestating adaptation of Joe Hill’s horror novel Horns is starting to gather other actors for the cast. Max Minghella is now in talks to sign on.

Radcliffe is set to play the book’s central figure, Ig Perrish, who wakes up one morning after a drunken bender to discover he has red horns growing out of his forehead. He soon learns that they hold the power to make everyone around him confess their innermost sins and darkest desires, which helps as he investigates the rape and murder of his girlfriend.

If he makes a deal, Minghella will be Lee Tourneau, a political aide and old friend of Ig’s who has become distant since the murder of Ig’s girlfriend Merrin.

With a script by Keith Bunin, Aja is slated to start shooting this autumn. We’re watching this one closely, as the source material is a superb, dark thriller.

Minghella, who was last seen in The Darkest Hour, will next show up in Not Safe For Work and Shawn Levy’s latest comedy The Internship.
