Director John Wells and star Bradley Cooper are already hard at work at the chef-focused film that for some time was called Adam Jones – after Cooper’s lead character – but which now appears to be back in untitled territory. This week they’ve found someone to be Adam’s nemesis, and it’s not Anton Ego{ =nofollow}. Matthew Rhys is on board to cause him bother.

Whatever it ends up being named, the film finds Cooper as a famous chef whose wild style and daring way with a menu has led to him becoming a rock star in the kitchen. But his crazy, partying personality starts to undermine him, especially when he has a shot at his own restaurant and an elusive third Michelin star.

Rhys will play Reece, the man who stands in the way of Adam’s comeback. The actor has had plenty of practice thwarting the interests of America, as he’s spent two seasons playing an admittedly sympathetic Russian sleeper spy in The Americans.

He joins a packed cast that already includes Sienna Miller, Uma Thurman, Daniel Bruhl, Riccardo Scarmacio, Emma Thompson, Lily James, Omar Sy, Jamie Dornan, Sam Keeley, Sarah Greene and Alicia Vikander. The cameras are rolling now, and the film should be with us next year.
