Matthew Broderick has signed on to Finding Amanda, which will mark the film-directing debut of Rescue Me co-creator Peter Tolan. It follows a TV producer seriously down on his luck, not to mention a recovering drug addict and alcoholic. His past is littered with incidents, such as the day he both vomited on stage at the Emmys and lost $150,000 betting on a horse race.

So you have to question the sanity of his wife, who sends him on a mission to find their niece (the titular Amanda) and convince her to enter rehab. Trouble is, Amanda’s currently earning her way by working as a stripper… in Las Vegas, capital city of betting and drinking/snorting until you puke. And Broderick’s character’s just ripe for falling back into his old ways…

Tolan has written the script and starts shooting in Vegas this January.
