After having a very good year with his acclaimed simian sequel Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, Matt Reeves is looking to stay in the world of Caesar and co., kicking off work on the third of the new Apes movies. But after that? He’s considering his options, and has signed on to direct an untitled bank heist film{
Matt Charman came up with the idea, and clearly had a great pitch for the potential film in addition to his calling card, writing the earliest drafts of the script for Steven Spielberg’s latest, a Cold War spy tale.
Charman, who worked on the original concept with Tobey Maguire’s producing partner Matt Plouffe, is keeping the plot a secret for now. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it brings to mind Heat and Dog Day Afternoon.
After Reeves expressed an interest, Apes studio 20th Century Fox made a swift bid for the spec and Charman will now write the script itself, ready for the director to make after he finishes [Insert Words] Of The Planet Of The Apes (we don't have the official title yet), which is due to arrive here on July 28, 2016, the day before it launches in the States.
