The Ocean's Eleven spin-off Ocean's Eight already has an impressive cast that includes Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson and Anne Hathaway. But it's apparently set to have a closer tie to the Steven Soderbergh trilogy in its cast as Matt Damon has revealed he'll be cameoing as Linus Caldwell in the movie.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Manchester By The Sea, which he produced, Damon revealed that he'll be popping up in Ocean's Eight, but isn't sure yet how it'll work out. "I’m doing a little bit in the movie,” Damon said. “I haven’t read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I’m excited to see what those women do with it. It’s going to be fun."

The cameras are rolling now on the film, with Gary Ross directing a story that reportedly involves a heist (that part is surely a given in the Ocean's universe) at the Met Gala. The likes of Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter and Mindy Kaling are also aboard. There's no word on a release date yet.

As for Damon, he'll be back on our screens in The Great Wall, which is out on 17 February.
