The new instalment of the Matrix franchise continues to surprise, and not just because of its existence at all. Joining the established likes of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss is Neil Patrick Harris.
Lana Wachowski, who co-wrote and directed the original Matrix trilogy, is back on board, with Reeves once again playing Neo and Moss as Trinity. Aquaman's Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has won a role that is currently a mystery, though there has been speculation that he could be playing a young version of Morpheus, as brought to life by Lawrence Fishburne in the trilogy.
As for Harris, he's likewise an unknown quantity for now, with Variety unable to dig up details. This would mark his biggest film of recent times, though he has appeared in movies such as Gone Girl and The Muppets. He's also enjoyed success on TV with the likes of A Series Of Unfortunate Events and How I Met Your Mother.
As for this latest Matrix, the film should be shooting at the start of next year.
