Whatever shenanigans The Conspiracy On Jekyll Island has in store for us, its plot has just thickened with the news that West Wing alumnus Mary McCormack is joining the sinister goings-on. Jekyll Island, on the coast of Georgia, isn't even a proper island so there's one secret for starters.
There's no word on who the **K-PAX **and Deep Impact actress will be playing, but she joins a cast that already includes Frank Grillo, Diana Agron, Minnie Driver, Maggie Q, John Leguizamo and Ed Westwick.
The plot follows an ex-Wall Street financier (Grillo) who is hired by the Treasury Secretary to stave off a concerted cyber assault on the US. The stakes are high: the fragile American economy is threatened with ruination, so, like a white collar** Die Hard 4.0**, he's soon enlisting his wife and an IT helpdesk's worth of tech mavericks to save the day.
Jekyll Island itself is the location for the meeting between banking leaders and politicians that led to the creation of the Federal Reserve, although there's no word on whether it will host any of the film's action. Aram Rappaport is directing the film based on his own script, with Hilary Shor (The Butler, Children Of Men) producing.
