The Marvel team is clearly wasting no time in building the cast for future Disney+ series Secret Invasion. Mere hours after news broke that Olivia Colman was in talks to join the ensemble comes word that Game Of Thrones veteran Emilia Clarke is in final negotiations to also appear.
Variety somewhat naturally scored no comment from either Marvel or Clarke's representatives, which is par for the course when anything Marvel-related breaks that the company isn't ready to officially announce. Spinning off from Captain Marvel (and the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home), Secret Invasion will see Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn's Skrull Talos investigating a dangerous infiltration of Earth by a more violent faction of the latter's shape-changing race.
Clarke's role is a mystery for now, but we do know that she and Colman join a cast that already also includes One Night In Miami's Kingsley Ben-Adir. Kyle Bradstreet is on board to run the show from the writers' side, and the series should shoot this year.
