Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb brought show-runner Scott Buck and cast members Finn Jones (playing Iron Fist himself, Danny Rand), Jessica Henwick (Coleen Wing), David Denham (Harold Meachum), Jessica Stroup (Joy Ward), Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum) and Rosario Dawson (Defenders connecting character Claire Temple) to New York's Comic-Con, screening clips and launching the trailer. The show has just finished production, but Jones will be back on set shortly for the Defenders miniseries.
Rand's superhero origin dates back to the death of his parents at the treacherous hands of Harold Meachum, and his transformation into an iron fisted hero after some serious training and placing his hand in a molten dragon's heart (at least in the comic books, though the teaser hints at some firey goodness for his fists). He returns to New York after 10 years to reclaim his family business. He'll be fighting crime and, of course, getting into dust-ups. We're pleased to see one of them is in a hallway, keeping up the Marvel/Netflix tradition.
Iron Fist makes its way to Netlix on 17 March.
