The Marvel Disney+ series based around Jeremy Renner's Clint "Hawkeye" Barton is further away than some of the other MCU-spawned shows that the companies have in the works. Yet it has taken a step forward, hiring former Mad Men writer Jonathan Igla to run the show.

As teased by Marvel boss Kevin Feige at Comic-Con and Disney's D23 event this year, the story will focus on Barton aiming to teach young archer Kate Bishop how to make it as a hero without the superpowers of some of his Avengers colleagues.

We're not likely to see the series until autumn 2021, and it'll fit into Phase Four of the MCU alongside Disney+ stablemates The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, Loki and WandaVision. For more on the various shows, head here.

Igla, in addition to Mad Men, worked on short-lived sports drama Pitch and and Facebook Watch drama Sorry For Your Loss.
