James Marsh won plaudits and a Best Documentary Oscar for Man On Wire, the story of tightrope artist Philippe Petit and his amazing walk between the towers of the World Trade Centre in 1974. But now he's abandoning the real world for a supernatural thriller called The Vatican Tapes, which is sadly not about the Pope's '80s mix selections.

No, instead of Do You Really Want To Hurt Me and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, this is a tale with a horror tinge, about a Vatican tape of an exorcism gone wrong being leaked. We're guessing that the results could resemble a cross between Paranormal Activity and The Exorcism of Emily Rose, but only time will tell.

The screenplay's by Chris Borrelli, a former visual effects guy who previously wrote horror movie Whisper and action-fest The Marine 2. Chris Morgan, one of the writers on Wanted and Fast & Furious, also worked on the story.

But can it be anywhere near as heart-in-the-mouth as Man On Wire? What do you think?
