James Marsden, Catherine Keener and Tracy Morgan represent a quite delightfully diverse triumvirate. You've got Marsden covering the wholesome, thoroughly charming, mass appeal angle; Keener fills the indie cred slot; and Morgan's got that whole endearingly bat-shit crazy thing going. Which all bodes well for Nailed.
The trio has signed to take supporting roles in David O. Russell's next. The film already stars Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal. Biel plays a waitress who gets a nail shot in her head, causing bizarre behaviour, and then heads to Washington to campaign for better health care. While there, she falls for a ditzy congressman (Gyllenhaal) who has to find the courage to save her. In the case of David O. Russell versus sanity, this court finds gladly in favour of Russell.
Marsden plays Biel's boyfriend; Keener a self-serving congresswoman; and Morgan will likely play an injured friend of Biel who's given up on love, but details of his role are still being finalised.
