Stephen Sommers' GI Joe has added another name to its cast, in the shape of Marlon Wayans, the Wayans brother who has been known to do work that wasn't incredibly irritating. He'll play Ripcord, leader of the military unit. We're about as familiar with GI Joe as Sommers is with subtlety, so we can't make any judgement on whether or not this is good casting.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is also reportedly in negotiations to join the movie in an unspecified role. This movie has assembled a clutch of recognisable names – Wayans, Sienna Miller, Ray Park – but it's still in need of a star. So we're still wondering who's going to play Joe. Mark Wahlberg was much discussed, but seems to have counted himself out of the running. So who could fill the khaki vest?
