The critical reception it got last year might not have predicted a sequel would be possible, but with $240 million in the bank worldwide, looks like we will see a follow-up to the mismatched buddy comedy of Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in Daddy's Home.

A comedy reunion for the Other Guys stars, Daddy's Home saw Ferrell as Brad, a mild-mannered husband to Linda Cardellini's Sara's and step-dad to her kids. His world is threatened when her freewheeling tough guy ex-husband Dusty (Wahlberg) comes back into the picture. Soon the two men are engaged in a war of skill and manliness to see who can be the better role model for the children and score their love. Suffice to say a lot of pratfalls and madness follows.

That first film ended – spoiler alert for those who didn't see it – with Dusty marrying someone new, who just so happens to have her own imposing ex, played by John Cena. So while the new movie's plot has yet to be unveiled, you've got to figure that that will factor in somehow.

With Ferrell and Wahlberg attached to return, Sean Anders and John Morris are once again writing the script and Anders will also direct, but there's no timetable yet.
