While we’re not all that thrilled by most of the CGI-character/live-action comedy blends that are on the horizon (can you blame us with **Yogi Bear **on the way?), one we’re actually intrigued to see is Seth MacFarlane’s planned R-rated comedy Ted. Now he’s scored a human star in the shape of Mark Wahlberg.

Fresh off of impressing audiences with his ability to play against Will Ferrell in** The Other Guys**, Wahlberg has landed the lead in MacFarlane’s film, which will see him working with a CG-crafted, living teddy bear voiced by the Family Guy creator.

Deadline reports that the script finds a boy in Boston making a wish that his teddy would come to life, which it does. Cut to years later and the boy is now a man – and the bear is still his best friend. But the problem is that the furry fella is a hard-partying slacker who is stopping our hero from growing up properly and settling down with the woman he loves.

MacFarlane will direct from a script he wrote with Family Guy veterans Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, and we’re wondering what they’ll be able to get up to freed from the confines of US TV network censors. We bet the MPAA won’t be best pleased…
