A film boasting Mark Strong, Jamie Bell and Abbie Cornish in the cast? Don’t mind if we do. That’s the line-up promised by director Toa Fraser and his new based-on-truth thriller **6 Days.

According to Deadline, the film will be drawn from the events in April 1980 when six armed gunmen took over the Iranian Embassy in London and held more than two-dozen people hostage. The SAS laid siege to the place and a tense standoff happened across six days, with the forces preparing to raid the place when the time was right.

Fraser, who last directed The Dead Lands, is once more teaming up with writer Glenn Standring, and they have several former SAS members acting as consultants while filming takes place this summer. And, as you’ll not be too surprised to learn, the rights to the film will be up for sale at this month’s Cannes Film Market.

Strong, last seen in Kingsman: The Secret Service, has worked on sci-fi thriller Ad Inexplorata and comedy Grimsby, which arrives on March 4 next year. He’s also attached to the thriller Jadotville. Bell will next be seen as Ben Grimm in Fantastic Four, which is out on August 6. As for Cornish, she’ll appear in mystery thriller Solace and action sci-fi pic Geostorm.
