With the likes of The Cell, I Am Legend and more recently a credit on Thor under his belt, and the assignment to script an adaptation of video game title Mass Effect keeping him busy, writer Mark Protosevich has zeroed in on another possible project, comic book chronicle Freakshow, which he may end up directing.
Like many of the comics Hollywood has bubbling away in the development soup, Freakshow isn’t actually out for sale yet, with a promotional launch planned for this week’s San Diego Comic-Con and an on-sale target date of January.
The three-issue miniseries, created by David Server, Jackson Lanzing and artist Joe Suitor, follows five young heroes who are mutated by a chemical explosion and are torn between using their abilities to do good or to exact revenge when evildoers slaughter their world’s single superhero.
Protosevich is planning to produce the film with **Up In The Air **writer Sheldon Turner and Jessica Klein, who have several different projects floating around Hollywood.
There’s no word on a studio picking it up yet, but the deal has only just been made, so it’ll be a while before anything else happens.
