Earlier this week, a tweet from Tank Girl comic co-creator Alan Martin indicated that Margot Robbie and her LuckyChap company had grabbed the rights to the story from MGM with the intention of making a new movie adaptation. And, according to Collider, she's found the director she wants to work with, as Miles Joris-Peyrafitte is attached.
Robbie has just worked with Joris-Peyrafitte on indie bounty hunter drama Dreamland, and it would appear to have been an enjoyable collaboration as she's ready to team back up.
Of course, it's very early days for the project, which would adapt the tale of a chaotic, jokey tank dweller who fights alongside a group of genetically modified rebels against a tyrannical government that has its clutches around the world's water supply. Robbie, according to the site, is tentatively on board to star, but she'll wait until the script is ready before making the final decision.
Dreamland has played mostly festival dates, and there's no sign of an official release date just yet. Robbie will be back in rebellious mode for _Birds Of Prey _, which will be out on 7 February next year.
