Though it's not entirely clear in what order the next Amazing Spider-Films will arrive - there's a chance **The Sinister Six **spin-off could come before Amazing Spider-Man 3 - franchise helmer Marc Webb is keen to bring back a character much loved both in the comics and Sam Raimi's original trilogy: Daily Bugle dictator J. Jonah Jameson, first brought to the screen by J.K. Simmons{ =nofollow}.

Answering fans' questions during a Google + Q&A (which you can check out below), Webb said this about reviving the character in future Spidey installments:

"I like the idea very much of him coming up in the next film. It was more easy to accept a new Spider-Man than someone who could outdo J.K. Simmons in that role. He is so iconic. That's something we've really talked about. Obviously I love that character because he poses such an interesting dilemma for Spider-Man. The answer is... I don't know, but I think you can expect to see him in the future."

His point on Simmons being impossible to top is a good one - who else could portray the blustering windbag with such oomph? Recasting the very same actor may be a tempting proposition, but it just couldn't happen... could it?
