Though he’s busy wrangling what, by all accounts has become a bit of a nightmare on World War Z, director Marc Forster is still thinking of staying in the shot-calling game. He’s apparently close to a deal to make Imagining Nathan for Disney.
The movie sees a six year-old lad retreating into a fantasy world to escape the pain of his parents’ death. Thirty years later and he’s still there, diagnosed with a medical condition that has him tapped within his cartoon-style existence. But his sister decides to step in and try to get him out of it.
While Forster is still locked in battle with the zombie apocalypse thriller, he’s been scouting around for other work too, and is attached to several developing projects including Cowboy Ninja Viking, The Runner and Passengers.
Nathan sounds like something he could bring to life successfully, particularly after chronicling someone who used their imagination a lot – albeit in a slightly more positive way – in Finding Neverland.
